The Earthworm SEIS aims to invest in a portfolio of SEIS-qualifying early-stage companies that find and develop waste management and recycling projects.
The funding will support these companies through their initial growth plans and, specifically, their planning permission requirements. So, unlike its older sibling – Earthworm Environmental EIS – the SEIS fund takes considerable planning risk. In fact, Earthworm Capital anticipates not all planning applications will be successful.
If successful, the companies may receive funding from the Earthworm EIS fund, thereby providing an exit route for SEIS investors.
The SEIS fund is targeting a minimum tax-free return of £1.50 for every £1 invested (not guaranteed).
