Important: The information on this website is for experienced investors. It is not advice nor a research or personal recommendation to invest. If you’re unsure, please seek advice. Investments are for the long term. They are high risk and illiquid and can fall as well as rise in value, so you could get back less than you invest.

The manager

The VCT is managed by Foresight Group, founded in 1984, which manages over £1 billion worth of infrastructure investments, including renewable energy and smart meters. The infrastructure team at Foresight is headed by partner Nigel Aitchison.

Target return and strategy

The existing share class of Foresight Solar & Infrastructure VCT is limited-life, seeking to wind up and return capital to investors within a predetermined timescale. It is invested in projects seeking to generate predictable revenue streams. The portfolio includes solar and wind power generation, energy infrastructure and smart energy metering companies.

The new share class is understood to be an evergreen, growth-oriented share class focusing on technology investments.

Risks: important

Like all investments available through Wealth Club, this VCT is only for experienced investors happy to make their own investment decisions without advice.

VCTs are high-risk so should only form part of a balanced portfolio and you should not invest money you cannot afford to lose. They also tend to be illiquid and hard to sell and value. Before you invest, please carefully read the Risks and Commitments and the offer documents to ensure you fully understand the risks.

Tax rules can change and benefits depend on circumstances.

VCTs can now only invest new money in growth capital deals. Management buyouts, replacement capital deals, investments in mature companies and investments in solar and renewable energy assets are no longer permitted. This results in considerably higher risks.

How to invest
