Institutional-grade portfolios with a DIY investor price tag

They are the type of portfolio a private bank or wealth manager might build for you – but without the hefty price tag. In fact, you could pay around 40% less than you would if you used an adviser and roughly the same if managing a typical fund portfolio yourself on a DIY platform.

Your portfolio is managed by an investment team previously responsible for hundreds of millions of pounds. They select, monitor and oversee all the investments: a diverse mix of 30–45 actively managed and low-cost index funds as well as investment trusts. They give you exposure to equities and bonds from around the world, but also infrastructure and other private assets – we are not aware of any similar service that can match this.

The portfolios include fund managers you might have already heard of – from Artemis to Fidelity and Fundsmith – as well as the likes of Brookfield, Comgest and Dodge & Cox: under-the-radar specialist investment firms. Read more on our investment approach »

The next application deadline is 15 May 2024 (5pm).

Note: these discretionary managed portfolios are long-term investments which can fall as well as rise in value and returns are not guaranteed.

What does the Wealth Club Portfolio Service aim to achieve?

We believe nobody can predict markets with any useful consistency nor construct investment portfolios that are top performing all of the time.

The best-performing portfolio at the height of the post-Covid rally looked very different from the best-performing portfolio in the high interest rate and high inflation environment of 2023.

So, our portfolios do not aim to be the best performing in any given year. Instead, our focus is on maintaining well-diversified portfolios, which never have too much in any one asset class or fund manager, and delivering enhanced performance over the long term – not guaranteed.

Might the Wealth Club Portfolio Service be right for you?

You will have to decide for yourself. Here are some examples of how different types of investors might benefit.

Perhaps you have built up a portfolio of shares and funds over the years and wonder:

  • How do all these investments, made at different times, fit together?
  • Are they performing as well as they could?
  • Are you taking enough risk, or conversely, not enough?
  • Do you still have the time or inclination to manage your investments properly?
The Wealth Club Portfolio Service could allow you to get back on top of your investments without the time and effort, at a similar cost to managing the investments yourself.

You may no longer have much to do with the adviser, or you may be concerned about performance or paying too much in charges.

The Wealth Club Portfolio Service could allow you to invest in a professionally managed portfolio with much lower costs. Costs for portfolios managed by an adviser or traditional wealth manager may be as much as double what you pay for the Wealth Club Portfolios.

It takes time and effort to keep track of your investments. You may worry they don’t all fit together or perform well.

The Wealth Club Portfolio Service could allow you to take back control and consolidate your investments in a single, well managed portfolio that fits your risk appetite, is easier to manage and potentially lower cost.

Deciding where to invest a large sum can take time and effort.

The Wealth Club Portfolio Service could give you immediate exposure to a great value, well diversified and professionally managed portfolio. Choose the portfolio you believe best suits you and we will do the rest.

What are the costs?

The Wealth Club Portfolio Service is competitively priced so more of your money is working for you.

You get a fully managed and monitored portfolio but pay a similar amount as you would if you were doing it yourself. That’s around half the price of a traditional portfolio management service.

The total cost will be in the region of 1.1% a year:

Management fee 0.35%
Custody fee 0.25%
External fund fees 0.36% – 0.58%

What are the main risks?

Like all investments, the value of the Wealth Club Portfolio Service can fall as well as rise. This applies to all the portfolios. Remember: all portfolios can fall as well as rise in value and returns are not guaranteed.

Whilst the portfolios are comparatively liquid, you should consider them a long-term investment, held for five years or more.

Before investing, please read all the investment information to ensure you fully understand the risks and potential rewards and can choose for yourself which portfolio – if any – might be right for you. We cannot provide advice nor make personal recommendations to invest. If you are unsure, you should seek advice.
